David Wills, AIA, LEED AP
David is basically a “lifer” at Hafer. He joined the firm just three short months after its inception. Through his tenure, David has developed a strong background in the design and production of major construction projects encompassing both renovation and new construction. With his wide array of expertise and strong leadership skills, David began managing Hafer’s new location in Owensboro, KY in 2008. David enjoys a good challenge and has excelled at growing the practice in the Western Kentucky region.
Everyone that knows David, knows that he has an artistic side. He sings in his church choir, plays the cello, and enjoys photography. It is this artistic quality that contributes to David’s design skills and also plays a part in his community service. He serves as the President of the Board for the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra and Board Member of the Owensboro Economic Development Council.
Living life with a household of only women, David has always had a “softer” side. He is married to his wife, Maurita, of 35 years, has 2 daughters, one granddaughter and even his beloved Imperial Shitzu is a female. This soft side translated into caring about the preservation and creative reuse of historic structures to ensure the future of our world is resilient and healthy. As part of his mission, he serves as the Chairman of the Historic Preservation Commission.
