David Wills, AIA, LEED AP

Principal, Architect

David is basically a “lifer” at Hafer. He joined the firm just three short months after its inception. Through his tenure, David has developed a strong background in the design and production of major construction projects encompassing both renovation and new construction. With his wide array of expertise and strong leadership skills, David began managing Hafer’s new location in Owensboro, KY, in 2008. David enjoys a good challenge and has excelled at growing the practice in the Western Kentucky region.

Everyone that knows David, knows that he has an artistic side. He sings in his church choir, plays the cello, and enjoys photography. These artistic and compassionate qualities contribute to David’s design skills and play a part in his community service. David is also passionate about preservation and creative use of historic structures to ensure the culture and beauty of these buildings remain in good standing for years to come. As part of his mission, he gives of his time serving as president of Newburgh's Redevelopment Commission, and as a commissioner on Newburgh's Historic Preservation Commission and Plan Commission.

Living life with a household of only women, David has always had a “softer” side. He and his wife, Maurita, have two daughters, and six grandchildren (five girls and one boy). Always eager to dive into something new, David hopes to write children’s books one day and travel to the Holy Land.
