Ribbon Cutting Held For Deaconess Aquatic Center

Evansville officials cut the ribbon today on the $30 million Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, which we designed. Nestled into Garvin Park, the two-story facility’s front door is situated across from historic Bosse Field. The center is divided into two separate areas – competitive and recreational – each with its own dedicated locker rooms. The competition pool, named after Olympic gold medalist swimmer and Evansville native Lilly King, is a stretch 50-meter pool where diving and swimming can occur at the same time. The 50-meter pool can be converted to accommodate both collegiate and high school swim meets. There is also a mezzanine large enough to hold 960 people. Hafer was honored to design a facility that the entire community can enjoy for years to come!
