The Exchange

The Main Exchange at MacDill Air Force Base is bustling with life from the moment the doors open. And now, after this project, it can better serve its patrons and our military men and women with new stores and services within the updated mall.

The project included relocating the food court’s serving areas, kitchens and dining areas. New vendor spaces were created and finishes, public restrooms and two exterior entrances were updated. Walking though the mall, it’s easy to see the interior finish upgrades. Wall murals decorate the halls with the faces of the men and women serving on base. Storefronts also now coordinate with wood portal entrances and signage.

The Main Exchange now offers a new optical center with an on-site optometrist, laundry/dry cleaner, tactical gear shop, The Joint chiropractic clinic, barber shop, and a DOCS Dental Clinic. This project also included designing a standalone Starbucks inside the mall, as well as spaces for new food court vendors — Taco Bell, Subway and Slim Chickens — which were all designed according to each vendors’ brand standards.

Service men and women, their families, and others on base will continue to enjoy the Main Exchange’s new services and updated spaces for years to come.
