Warrick County Parks Department owns property centrally located to much of the residential and commercial development activity in Warrick County. This unused land was transformed into a destination park to improve the quality of life for the community and attract more residents and businesses.
Hafer was hired to develop a master plan to guide these exciting developments. The park includes a number of amenities such as an outdoor amphitheater, picnic pavilions, natural playground, two public restroom facilities, walking / biking trails, and a large open area that can be used for a variety of events. As part of the master plan, other amenities being considered for the future include a banquet/events center, dog park, and a large sports complex for volleyball, soccer, tennis, and basketball.
Adjacent to the new park is Victoria National Golf Club which hosts an annual PGA Tournament and Big 10 College Event which brings global attention to the area. The park is now the “front door” of Victoria National, supporting and enhancing the experience of visitors attending events at the Club.
The thoughtful landscaping provides visitors with a mixture of experiences including wildflower meadows boasting over 20 varieties of wild flowers, indigenous trees, butterfly gardens and views to the lake. Friedman Park supports lifestyle improvements and will promote future development in Warrick County.
