Gateway Campus

Master Plan

In 1990, Hafer assisted Deaconess Health System with site selection for their Gateway campus. Since the first shovel of dirt was turned, Hafer has collaborated with Deaconess on the evolution of the entire campus layout - both the overall vehicular and pedestrian traffic flow and the master planning of each specific building. The campus has grown from an initial 30,000 sf medical office building to over 1,000,000 sf of full-service healthcare facilities. The campus includes two hospitals, a cancer treatment facility, a specialty imaging center, and now three medical office buildings. Hafer also directed the planned growth and expansion of the mechanical and electrical infrastructure that supports the campus.

The master plan has served as an invaluable instrument in ensuring the campus grows intelligently and seamlessly.
