Deaconess Gateway Hospital

GI Specialty Center

Located on the southern edge of the Gateway Medical Campus, this three-story medical office building gives Deaconess Gateway Hospital the ability to offer more services for their gastrointestinal care unit (GI) including GI Urgent Care, a weight loss clinic, labs, imaging, and more. The building is a natural fit within the established medical campus. The first floor is designed with a stone facade and an exterior insulation finishing system (EIFS). The entryway includes an expansive canopy that provides ample room for drop-off and patient discharge. Moving up the building, the upper two levels are embossed with metal panels that provide a warm wood-like appearance.

On the first floor, you'll find a 40,000 sf GI Procedure Center. It consists of nine procedure rooms, 48 preparation and recovery spaces, a new GI clinic with after-hours care, and rooms for ultrasound, x-ray, CT scans, lab, and blood draw. This project offers a new feature to patients; there are automated check-in kiosks located just inside the front doors to offer quick and easy check-in for those that don't need to consult the traditional check-in desk. Located on the second floor are 24 exam rooms dedicated to the GI clinic and 13 exam rooms for the weight loss clinic. The finished product is a state-of-the-art facility to support the team of GI experts in a single location to better serve Deaconess patients' needs.

The new GI Specialty Center was designed to be flexible for future needs. Included in the design is room to add additional operating rooms and shell space for other related GI services. The building was completed in the Spring of 2022.
