Health Professions Renovation

With the nursing and health science classes at capacity, it was necessary to renovate an additional floor to provide more space. The floor was transformed into offices, classrooms, seminar and large meeting spaces and student lounges. Four balconies were enclosed with glass to make room for an additional 4,000 sf.

A state-of-the-art teaching kitchen is a welcomed addition for students. This kitchen provides a hands-on learning experience giving nutrition students the opportunity to apply text book knowledge in an experiential format. This beneficial learning space also features cooking demonstration stations where the work can be viewed from large screen tv’s above. A lab space is set aside for completing anthropometrics, body composition, blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol measurements.

The HVAC system was also upgraded as part of the project, providing a more efficient and economical solution. Lighting throughout the floor was also replaced to include LED fixtures.
