Liberal Arts Center

To expand learning opportunities for students, USI built the Liberal Arts Center featuring state-of-the-art instructional areas for the College of Liberal Arts. The facility features a music studio, Center for Media Studies, Topper Practice Room, radio and television production studios, language laboratories, distance-learning classrooms, and several general classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art instructional technology to enhance learning.

Kleymeyer Hall is a 112-seat lecture hall within the Liberal Arts Center often serving as the location for guest speakers and presentations. The Mallette Studio Theatre, an intimate 100 seat theatre, is a black-box stage with space used as a classroom laboratory and student performances. The McCutchan Art Center and Pace Galleries provides space and accommodations for the Student Art Exhibition, student and faculty exhibitions, visiting artist exhibitions, traveling exhibitions, and Senior Art Seminars.

The building also contains several group study areas and spaces for collaboration amongst students. A raised outdoor patio with views overlooking Reflection Lake provide students with a unique alternative for studying or relaxing with friends. One of the main architectural highlights of this building is the expansive glass curtain wall along the back of the building which fills the interior spaces with natural light.

Designed with Hastings+Chivetta, this four-story building has set the stage for continued growth on USI’s campus. The College of Liberal Arts has grown steadily over the years and has students enrolled in more than 30 majors and a similar number of minors.
