As a leader in the furniture business and a leader in the “green” movement, OFS Brands wanted to find a way to connect with clients and provide an atmosphere conducive to educating, entertaining, and showcasing the company’s sustainable practices. To implement this vision, OFS Brands purchased beautiful wooded property close to their headquarters where they could create this type of environment. Hafer worked with OFS to design a master plan that would capitalize on the natural beauty of this property. The master plan mapped out the best locations for future facilities on the campus including the Horse Barn and Maintenance Facility, Marina, Overlook, Lodge and Education Center. Other amenities included a Hummer course, sporting clay course, horse back riding, hiking trails, and the chef’s garden. Each new client who visits Cool Springs also celebrates their visit and the sustainability of the campus by planting a tree on the property’s tree nursery. A plaque is placed by the tree displaying their name.

A lake was created on the Cool Springs campus, not just for the beauty, but to house a geothermal system that heats and cools every facility on site.

The master plan has served as an excellent tool to guide OFS over the years. Many of the projects have been built since the commencement of the master plan. Everyone that visits Cool Springs is amazed by the beauty and unique experiences they receive on campus.
