As part of WVU Medicine’s mission to provide excellent patient care and improve the health of West Virginians, they decided to expand into Fairmont, WV to serve a county that was determined to have too few health providers to cover certain patient needs. The new clinic, the first development on a multi-acre site, is an outpatient center containing the following services:
• Primary care including obstetrics / gynecology
• Urgent care
• General surgery
• Vascular surgery
The façade features stone and brick with a steel and glass canopy. It contains 39 exam rooms, 2 x-ray rooms, 1 mammography room with associated changing and consult rooms, and 3 procedure rooms. The building is designed with flexibility in mind to adapt to future ever-changing healthcare needs.
