After completing a master plan for Holy Rosary Parish, Hafer designed the addition of a day chapel onto the existing church and created a connection between these two worship spaces with a large narthex. The narthex provides the church with much needed gathering space.
With seating for 100 people, the day chapel enables smaller groups to use this facility for weddings, funerals and a place to worship throughout the day. Aesthetically, the addition of the day chapel and narthex was designed to complement the design of existing chapel on site. It flows seamlessly incorporating similar materials including large stained glass windows which help fill the space with natural light.
Recently completed, this project now unites the church and attached K-8 school because the interior connection provides better connectivity between buildings and accommodates the needs of a busy, flourishing congregation.
