Years and years of chlorine buildup had taken a toll on Pike County School Corporation’s swimming pool, deck area and ceiling, so a complete overhaul was necessary to get the pool back to competition-ready.
The new design creates a bright and open environment for swimmers, coaches and fans. The drop ceiling was removed and new flooring, lighting and other finishes were added. The pool itself was also resurfaced. Everything received a special coating designed for pools in an effort to avoid the chlorine deterioration that plagued the pool in the past.
The pool received a new HVAC system and sound panels were added to help control sound during practice and meets. Everyone talks about home-field advantage and this newly renovated pool is sure to give the Pike Central Chargers an edge.
