Bell Road Library Renovation

Upgrades at Bell Road Library allow it to continue serving patrons in new and creative ways. Inside, the unused café was transformed into a makerspace for the community to enjoy. Featuring emerging technologies such as a laser cutter, sound booth and other equipment, the space also serves as a flexible, multi-purpose room for library programming and community meetings. The high ceilings, expansive windows that offer an abundance of natural light, and direct views of the rest of the library, make the makerspace a welcoming and enjoyable space for patrons. Additional work inside the library involved reworking the circulation area to include a new self-checkout desk.

On its exterior, the library’s windows were replaced due to water damage. Additionally, the building’s landscaping was completely overhauled to include native plants that are more easily maintained. The outdoor boardwalk and deck were also refinished so that patrons can enjoy the landscape and the library’s adjacent pond.

Patrons have appreciated the recent improvements that make the Bell Road Library an even greater community asset.
