Mount Vernon Parks & Recreation

After delighting the Mount Vernon community for more than 50 years, the city’s public pool has reached the end of its lifespan. To plan a new pool that will not only replace the previous one but improve the user experience, the city’s Parks & Recreation department has engaged the public in sharing what they would like to see in the future facility.

Currently in schematic design, community members have expressed their interest in features like ADA-accessibility, slides for kids of all ages, a splash pad, lanes for competitive and recreational swimmers, shady areas, and more.

Residents of Posey County are greatly looking forward to the hope and potential of returning to a beloved summer activity.
