Hospice of Western Kentucky

The Heartford House

With a need for specialized end of life care in Western Kentucky, Hospice of Western Kentucky decided to build The Heartford House, a one-of-a-kind inpatient hospice center that sits on over 10 acres of land.

Situated on a peaceful and serene property, The Heartford House contains 12 private patient rooms, each with a covered outdoor patio overlooking a lake. Walking trails and a gazebo were incorporated around the lake to give patients and family areas to retreat, meditate or relax while visiting. The patient rooms were designed with flexibility in mind. Some of the patient rooms are equipped with two beds that accommodate family members or when joined together serve bariatric patients. Other areas within the hospice center include a chapel, family room, children’s room, commercial kitchen, and a formal great room that is available to the public for private events.

The Heartford House is truly a unique inpatient hospice center. The facility serves as a peaceful, supportive environment that makes patients and families more comfortable and provide a compassionate space for those precious, last moments.
