Newburgh Chandler Public Library

Bell Road Library Renovation

The Bell Road branch of the Newburgh Chandler Public Library has been a cornerstone of the Newburgh community for more than 20 years. This interior renovation will focus on targeted upgrades to finishes, furniture, lighting, and engineering, transforming the library from a dated facility into a modern, engaging destination.

In the adult section, new furniture and upgraded end panels provide a more polished appearance and durability. Throughout the library, refreshed finishes and lighting create a brighter, more welcoming environment for patrons and staff. The teen area will be redefined with new wall graphics that establish a distinct identity and foster a stronger sense of ownership and belonging. In the children’s section, new, built-in birdhouse reading nooks will enhance the existing treehouse-inspired theme—encouraging families to linger and explore together.

The project also includes a significant mechanical upgrade, replacing the outdated system with new chillers, boilers, air handling units, VAVs, and controls. This will support the library with improved indoor-air quality and reliability for decades to come as the old system was nearing the end of its life cycle.

The library will remain open throughout the renovation—ensuring continued service while creating a more functional, comfortable space for the community.
